The ChampionChip will be used to record finish times for all registered 5K runners. The chips may only be picked up at the Reynolda Business Center courtyard on the morning of the race from 6:30 am to 8:20 am. Race bib numbers and t-shirts may be picked up on Friday, August 26 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm but your chip must be picked up on Saturday morning. This will eliminate any runner from forgetting their chip or not showing up and keeping their chip. The chip must be worn on the runner's shoe during the race.
NO CHIP, NO FINISH TIME, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Attach the chip to your shoe by running your shoelace through the chip and through the top eyelet on your shoe. Ensure that you have tied your laces snugly.
Chips must be turned in after the runner crosses the finish line. Volunteers with buckets will be collecting chips and assisting runners with the removal of their chip. A $30 fee will be charged to any runner not turning in their chip.
You may use your own personal ChampionChip. Upon registering, inform the volunteer that you have your own chip. They will record your ChampionChip number on the registration form at that time.
Race numbers must be pinned securely to the front of your shirt. The race number carries vital runner information and must be clearly visible throughout the race for recording and photo opportunities. DO NOT alter your race number in any way.
After you cross the finish line, please keep moving to the end of the finish chute. Your 5K finish time is automatically recorded by Event Marketing Services, Inc.
LeBleu distilled water will be available at the 1-mile mark in Graylyn and at the finish line on the Southwest end of the Reynolda Business Center.
NOTE:
Headphones, roller skates, baby strollers, and dogs on leash are NOT PERMITTED in either the 5K-road race or 1-mile run. In a large field of runners, each of these devices presents a safety hazard.
